Carolina this, Carolina that. While the Hurricanes are heavily favored to win this series, I wouldn't count out the Habs so fast. This is a team that has great grit & determination and will not go home without a fight. In the last series, Montreal overcame having lost in Game 1. With a few days to rest from the Game 7 against Buffalo, I believe that the Canadiens will be ready.
During the season, these teams played three times. In all three games, Montreal got the best of Carolina & that includes both times played in this arena. As a matter of fact, the Habs scored 10 goals over those two games on the road. They've done it all year, and there's no question in my mind that Montreal's going to make this a series. Give me MTL.

Braxton Ashcraft (2-2, 3.09 ERA) vs. Dustin May (3-4, 4.81 ERA) .
Before yesterday's game, Pittsburgh had been slumping a bit. As a matter of fact, the Pirates came into the game on a four-game skid. I know that playing on a team that's losing isn't always enticing. But, this is a great matchup to do just that. Braxton Ashcraft has been phenomenal this season, especially when playing on the road. He owns a stellar 2.16 ERA in four road starts, with an OBA. of .205 & a 1.00 WHIP. Pittsburgh did respond with a 7-0 win yesterday as well to maybe spark a bit of a wing streak.
On the other hand, Dustin May has struggled to start this season. No, his numbers aren't as bad as they were. But, they are still below league average. May has also faced the Pirates twice over his career, allowing eight earned runs & nine total, on just 11.1 innings pitched. That's a 6.35 ERA with a record of 0-1 in those games! I like the Pirates to wake up tonight. They should have success offensively in this one.
