Robert Stock (1-3, 5.81 ERA) vs. Janson Junk (6-9, 4.00 ERA) .

New York managed to chase Sandy Alcantara early in yesterday's game. I don't expect that to be the case in this one against Janson Junk. The Marlins starter has already beaten the Mets this season, going five innings allowing one run (none earned) in a 5-2 win back in July. Junk also owns a ridiculous 2.077 ERA over his past nine outings.

Looking at the Mets, they will turn to Robert Stock. Even though the Mets nearly have their full lineup healthy at the moment and are playing better, they are on the brink of officially being eliminated from playoff contention. Stock owns a dreadful 8.64 ERA in road games this season as well. Give me Miami in the series finale to get on the board before the tough series vs. LAD.

Burns' Prediction: 6-4 Marlins.

The Blue Jays gave up early runs on Monday which was not ideal. Expect them to take control of this game early and keep it throughout the game with a dominant starter in Jose Soriano on the bump here today. On the other hand, Jack Perkins gets the nod. I get that the 26yr old has looked a lot better recently. But, his numbers are quite awful throughout this season. The A's are also still very banged up. Expect Toronto's lineup to feast in this matchup. Burns' Prediction: 7-2 Blue Jays.

That has put some experience into both of the lineups heading into this opening encounter. Even though LASK has looked phenomenal within its domestic league & domestic competitions, there's no doubt that the UCL is a drastic change in level of competition. This game will be a challenge. I previously won with AEK Athens to qualify for this Champions League (4-0 win) and I expect it to make a bit of noise. This is a team that has conceded just once over its past eight games including friendlies prior to the season. Athens made the Europa League Quarters last year while LASK was in the Conference League. Give me AEK at home in the first contest. Burns' Prediction: 3-1 Athens.

Now, it'll have to go on the road against an opponent that already beat it 4-0 back in November of last year. That opponent is Borussia Dortmund. A 2-0-0 record & a three game winning streak, scoring 10 goals over those games, has Dortmund feeling as good as ever right now. I believe that a lot of people under appreciate this side with all the talent on Bayern Munich within the German league. However, there's no question that this is one of the best teams in the world & I expect a good result of 3-points for Dortmund in the opener of UCL '26-'27. Burns' Prediction: 4-1 Dortmund.

(#927) Arizona Diamondbacks \| ML \| . Corbin Burnes (0-0, 0.00 ERA) vs. Michael Wacha (9-8, 3.36 ERA) . Returning from the 60-day injured list after Tommy John surgery, Corbin Burnes is likely to be on a pitch count of around 60 pitches. That doesn't scare me too much though. Burnes has been as elite as pitchers come when healthy and considering that he looked phenomenal through two flawless innings in his rehab start. The Diamondbacks also have a very solid bullpen that limits baserunners. On the other hand, Michael Wacha has been one of the lone bright spots for the Royals this season. It's been a very down year for KC in 2026. That being said, I expect him to continue to pitch well here on Tuesday with a 3.14 ERA in home games (allowing an OBA of .214 here as well.) This looks like a clear "under" to me. Burns' Prediction: 4-2 DBacks.
